Desiccant dehumidification systems have become increasingly popular in recent years because they can reduce equipment costs and are particularly suitable for humidity control when temperature and humidity is low. The core component of desiccant dehumidification system is desiccant rotor made of different materials. This article will explain what is a desiccant rotor.

There are two parts to each desiccant rotor, the process area and regeneration area. The air entering desiccant rotor passes through process area, releasing its moisture into adsorption medium.

Then desiccant rotor rotates into regeneration area, where dry air is heated up, moisture evaporates and then is discharged outside. The newly dried desiccant rotor will rotate back to process area and absorb moisture again.

The air is dried as it is discharged through the desiccant dehumidification system.

Health, safety, and hygiene are of paramount importance to our customers and are also key elements in our design of desiccant rotors. The unique core technology of Puresci is developed with high-temperature resistance, anti-corrosion and high-hardness inorganic ceramic coating, which is both energy-efficient and eco-friendly.

Puresci has also developed selection software to provide our customers with the most suitable solution in different applications as we adhere to the value of principle of customer-oriented.

Here are two most commonly used desiccant rotors on the basis of adsorption materials.

Silica gel desiccant rotor

As a well-known market-leading product, silica gel desiccant rotor is widely recognized for its outstanding performance in most applications and environments.

Puresci has developed a patented desiccant rotor that evenly blends special silica gel and various dehumidification materials with inorganic fibers by grafting. And the PST desiccant rotor can save 25% energy than a conventional silica gel desiccant rotor.

Molecular sieve desiccant rotor

Molecular sieve desiccant rotors are similar to silica gel desiccant rotors in many ways as they can both be cleaned and are resistant to corrosion and acid. Besides, having a rather long service life, a molecular sieve desiccant rotor also has great adsorption capacity when the partial pressure of vapour is low, so it is especially suitable for deep dehumidification.

As a leading manufacturer in the air handling industry, Puresci can provide you with advanced technology, outstanding products and professional services. If you want to know more about desiccant rotors, please click on our official website or send an email to ankie@puresci.com.
